Google, which was originally a a critical of threats is not criticizing the Open Internet Coalition after they let Comcast regulate its network as it sees fit for themselves. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit ruled April 6 that the FCC did not have the authority to order Comcast to stop throttling BitTorrent traffic and that Comcast could regulate Internet traffic over its own system. The FCC in 2008 had complained that Comcast and other Internet providers must treat content that traverses their pipes equally. Comcast took the FCC to the court and won. I think this is ridiculous on google's part because they usually have the initiative to say what they truly think is unacceptable. I don't understand why Google is doing this, it seems very odd for them to randomly start not standing up for what they believe in. This was a resounding blow to FCC network neutrality principles that prohibit broadband providers from blocking users from accessing and sharing lawful content and applications from any devices. Google is so concerned about the tight control Comcast, Verizon, AT&T and other network operators wield over their networks that it is in the process of setting up high-speed broadband networks.

Net Neutrality

Cloud Computing
Cloud Computing is a very controversial topic. Cloud is a metaphor used for the internet because of the cloud drawing used to depict the Internet in computer networking. The picture above, as you can see looks very similar to a cloud. Cloud computing is where details are taken from the users who don't need this information or have control over the technology "in the cloud". Cloud computing is a new supplement, consumption and delivery model for International Technology Services. The first man to come up with the idea of cloud computing was in 1960 when John McCarthy said that Computation may one day be a public utility". Cloud Computing is the ability of a 3rd party to perform computer actions on an IP base that is publicly accessible.

Google/China
In mid December Google realized there was a highly sophisticated and targeted attack on Google infrastructure originating from China. As a result of this attack intellectual property was stolen from Google. As Google researched further into the attack they realized that this attack was on at least 20 other large companies including technology, internet, finance and media companies. One of the main reasons for this attack was to read the Gmail email accounts of Chinese human right activists. Fortunately, these attacks were not successful and they just found out basic information about the email accounts rather than the content of the emails. Google has already begun creating more security breaches and they are warning the public in order for their own safety. Usually, a high power company such as Google would not share this attack with the public because it clearly shows a weakness in their company. But they decided to share it in order to protect their users. This decision shows the honor of Google which makes me respect them even more than before.
